Strengthen Community

Ambassador Program: We invite adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities to volunteer weekly in classrooms through our Ambassador Program. Ambassadors gain meaningful work and life experience while interacting with students during free play and gym time, always accompanied by a Direct Support Professional. This initiative fosters positive relationships between Ambassadors and students, helping preschoolers develop an understanding and appreciation of others with differing abilities. 

Grandfriends: Grandfriends from Touchmark visit Peace Academy twice a month for engaging activities with preschoolers, promoting intergenerational relationships that benefit everyone involved. Children grow in empathy and emotional intelligence, while older adults experience improved mental health, reduced isolation, and a renewed sense of purpose. 

Harvest Hope Farm: Food scraps from our kitchen contribute to the animals at Harvest Hope Farm, promoting sustainability education among children. HHF also provided hydroponic growing stations for both Peace Academy campuses.
